Hi Preecy,

SkyBlue FC are a team that has joined us and they have played a SkyBet FC in the Wharefedale Suanday League.

I show below an histroical write up from their early days.http://www.yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk/s ... -1-6960557

It is encouraging to see our representation increasing in the Wharfedale District with Horsforth St Margaret's no longer ploughing a lone furrow and SkyBlue FC will add even more to what appears to be a strong Division.

Thanks Neville; that clears up a question from me.

Have Churwell Lions, FC Headingley Woodhouse Moor Methodists & Rodillian folded?

Churwells first team are no longer in the West Riding League and aren't in the West Yorkshire League.

Did anyone else apply? Any of the Spen Valley / Selby teams? FC West Leeds?

From what i heard from FC West Leeds.

They have decided to put it on ice this year and take one of their first teams through from their Sunday league next year.

If it's the Skybet staff team, will they be restricted to be allowed to only score 3 goals per game ? (you will only get that if your clued up on betting)

As for the latter question, Rodillian have folded which is a shame as they were moving back up in the right direction last season and should have won their division. I don't think their players are setting camp anywhere else though and those that still want to play will find a home I'm sure.

Thanks

They have a weird set up IIRC.

9 or so teams all under the same administrator with different names. Not sure why they don't combine into first reserves etc...

Anyone have any idea whats happened to Churwell? It's rare to lose both teams in one season; particularly with such a good youth set up.

It seems weird to me too, but it works for them. Some players would rather be a first team than a reserve team from what i hear.

I heard from one of the players that Churwell couldn't find a manager and folded. Which is a shame, big history, i hope they can reform down the line.

Karl,

Last season I copied the fixture list from Full Time on 20th August. It is alwasy a difficult choice for the Fixture Secretary as the later we go befor publishing there are fewer alterations to be made. Grounds expected to be available for use are not always free in the end and that means fixture changes.

As for clubs that have left us it is sad to see Woodhouse Moor Meths go. They have used less than 20 players most seasons but began to concede games last season, and no doubt the heavy fines will not have helped. Similarly with FC Headingley. A team of University gruaduates who played in the YAL with distinction but they never replaced the original, high-flying side but, like Woodhouse Moor, will have found the cost of unfulfilled fixtures prohibitive. Both side gave a great deal to enhance our League.

i am sure Rodillian may have a comment to make whilst the loss of Churwell is disappointing as they were a respected club whose contribution, as with the original Rodillian side, extended to our U21 FA Floodlit team.
